Set during the Prohibition years, three soldiers return home after the First World War, following different paths. One becomes a lawyer while the other two, James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart, get involved in bootlegging. The events of life, the various characters with their respective choices that decide their fate: all this in what many consider to be the last gangster film of the golden age of the genre.
